TROOP 4 Code of Conduct |
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young men to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
The following Code of Conduct Agreement has been adopted by the Troop Committee and must be signed by each Scout and Parent and returned to the Committee with completed registration.
Code of Conduct Agreement
- I alone am responsible for my behavior at all Boy Scout functions.
- The Scout Oath and Law will be my guide in all interactions with Troop members and others.
- I understand the Troop leaders are responsible for the safety and security of each member of the Troop. I will follow their guidance and direction.
- I promise to respect the Troop leaders, adult and youth, during meetings and Troop activities. I will remain in control, listening to others and setting a good example for my fellow scouts.
- I will set a good example by keeping myself appropriately dressed, neat, and clean at all times.
- I will work cooperatively as a member of my Troop and patrol, sharing in all work, communicating my ideas, listening to the ideas of others and supporting the Troop leadership.
- I will be responsible in caring for Troop equipment. I will demonstrate respect for the property of others and will be personally responsible for any loss, breakage, damage, or vandalism of Troop, Church or personal property of others, as a result of my actions.
- I assume full responsibility for my personal gear and will keep it labeled, neat and clean.
- I understand and promise not to be involved in any way in the following prohibited behaviors:
- The purchase, possession, or consumption of alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, or tobacco.
- Possession or detonation of any type of fireworks.
- Fighting, hazing, or any aggressive or disrespectful behavior.
- Unauthorized use of electronic devices at any meeting or Troop activity.
- The use of profanity, or the possession of pornography.
- I understand that Scouting is a SAFE HAVEN. I will work to build a safe environment of learning and enjoyment for everyone.
- I understand that serious and/or repeated behavioral violations may result in serious disciplinary action and loss of scouting privileges or it may result in expulsion from Troop activities.
I PROMISE ON MY HONOR AS A SCOUT THAT I WILL DO MY BEST TO LIVE UP TO THE SCOUT OATH AND LAW AND AGREE TO FOLLOW THIS CODE OF CONDUCT.
